A
to obtain sufficient oxygen for respiration and to remove the equivalent volume of waste gases, carbon dioxide, and water.

Air passes from the nose or mouth through the pharynx and then the larynx to the trachea. This branches into the bronchus and then the bronchioles. This ends at the alveoli.

Mucus builds up due to bronchitis causing coughing, wheezing and shortness of breath.
