Responding to Stimuli Flashcards

1
Q

How can you test how sensitive a persons skin is?

A

This can be tested by touching different parts of the skin with two points and finding out how far apart the points have to b so that they can be detected as two points instead of one.

6
Q

Explain how an electrical nerve impulse travels from one neurone to the next.

A

The electrical nerve impulse reaches the end of the axon. Electrical impulses cause chemical neurotransmitters to be released into the synapse. Neurotransmitters cause a new electrical impulse in the next neurone.
