Voice
Sound of a writers style, or the relationship between a sentences subject and verb. Active voice is generally stronger than passive
Tone
The authors attitude toward the subject

The grammatical structure of the sentence
Pacing
How quickly or smoothly the text moves from one point to another
Diction

Denotation
Literal meaning of a word as defined
Connotation
Imagine lied meaning of the word
Jargon
Language used in a specific group that would not be understood outside the group
Colloquium
A common word or phrase used in everyday conversation but would not be used in formal writing
Slang
The use of newer words, informal speech.
Vernacular
Everyday common language of a geographic area
