reversible reactions Flashcards
(7 cards)
what is the deffinition of equilibrium
a state in which the rate of the forward reaction equals the rate of the backward reaction in a closed system
what is the requirements for the haber process
200 atm 450temp iron catalyst
what is le chatelier’s priciple
the conditions of an equilibrium are changed, the equilibrium will shift its position in order to counteract that change.
what happens if the pressure is increased in equilibrium
moves to side of less molocules
what happens if temp is increased in equilibirum
moves to direction of endothermic
what happens if more reactants are added
moves away from reactants
what happens if you add a catalyst to a reversable reaction
has no effect on the position of equilibrium. It does however allow equilibrium to be reached more quickly, and more economically good
