Q

How did the French Revolution change the world?

A

The abolishment of constitutional monarchy paved the way for the first Declaration of Human Rights, known as the Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen. In addition, as a result of the French Revolution, there was a major shift of power from the Roman Catholic Church to the state.
The French Revolution not only brought a new age to France but also influenced the other nations. The ideals of nationalism resonated among other nations giving way for people to revolt against unjust rule. The revolution also introduced the concept of democracy to other nations.

Q

What was the legacy of the American Revolutionary War?

A

It secured our independence, established our republic, created our national identity, and expressed ideals of liberty, equality, natural and civil rights, and responsible citizenship that have defined our nation for nearly 250 years.

With British rule having come to an end, Americans today look back on the event as the triumph of freedom and liberty in their country. The states were free and independent, no longer subservient to a foreign dominion.
