What is Ethos?
Ethos refers to the way the speaker or writer’s reputation, their credibility, knowledge, trustworthiness, can heighten the strength of an argument.
What is Pathos?
Pathos refers to the way a speech appeals to the audience’s basic human emotions, for example fear, pity and joy.
What is Logos?
Logos refers to the way logic and facts are used to build a better understanding of the correctness of the speaker or writer’s message.
What is Direct address?
Direct address is when you are directly talking to the audience for example you and we.
What is an anecdote?
It is a real story about an incident that is true.
What is a fact?
A fact is something that is true.
What is an opinion?
It is a thought that we think but it might not always be true.
What is repetition?
It is what you do or say something again and again.
What are statistics?
They are facts that are numbers that are used in a speech or some writing.
What is a rhetorical question?
It is a question that doesn’t need an answer
What is a hyperbole?
Something that is overly exaggerating that is not meant to be taken seriously.
What is a Tri-colon?
Three phrases that all construct the same patern.
