polymyalgia rheumatica
- on spectrum of giant cell arteritis
- stiffness and aching of neck, shoulders, back, hip and thigh
- commonly in elderly
Polyarteritis Nodosa features
- can affect skin , heart, GI and kidneys, brain
- non specific symptoms like fever, malaise and weight loss
3.it is a necrotising vasculitis affecting medium sized arteries
EPISCLERITIS
- seen in patients with h/o RA
- mild pain/discomfort ( lesser than scleritis)
- sometimes photophobia , vision will be normal
SCLERITIS
- severe boring pain radiating to jaw, forehead, brow
POLYMYOSITIS
1.rare inflammatory disorder of skeletal muscles
2.CK will be raised , used to monitor progress of the disease
PSEUDOGOUT
1.acute painful seronegative arthritis mimicking gout
2.deposition of calcium pyrophosphate crystals in joints
3.can occur in hypothyroidism, hyperparathyroidism ,
cytokines in rheumatoid arthritis
