Stalin Origins
- Georgian Born (1879)
- infleunced by revolutioary group that wanted georgian indepdence from russia; met marxist and socialist ideology
- left group; joined Russian Social Democratic Labour Party
- met lenin in Siberia/Finland when exiled; meets lenin and joins bolksheviks
Pre-Lenin Conditions

- he established the communist single party state
- decree for land, peace, and rights of the people of russia; land taken from landlords/churches and given to people + elections held for states + opposiion banned

- new economic plan; state control but peasants keep grain surplus

- lenin’s testament wasnt read out loud (lenin had stated his dislike of stalin in it; to ‘spare stalins feelings’)
