Basically all the matters here is that Hitler gained unprecedented support due to the failure of the Weimar Republic to save their citizens from the GD. However Hitler did not get the support he needed

A

An army officer was instrumental in the downfall of Heinrich Bruning (may 1932) and the appointment of von Papen. Became chancellor after papen resigned dec. 1 1932 and attempted to reduce Nazi influence/power; was viewed as enemy no.1 by Hitler and was dismissed before being killed in the night of long knives”

A

Chancellor June 1st 1932, lifted the restriction on the SA in a bid to appease the NSDAP. Managed to virtually cancel reparations. Resigned on dec 4. due to Schleicher being an arse and stopping his motions from passing

A

Japanese invasion early 1930s, Jiang Jieshi more concerned with fighting communists. Huge casualties which lead to more support for CCP as their army treated civilians with respect unlike Japanese armies and the GMD

A

The GMD’s army was conscripted abused and malnourished
• disrespected the peasants
•failed to adequately deal with Japanese invasion
•High ranking officers in the army were corrupt
• Hyperinflation from 1937 - 1946
• flawed tax system, no subsidisation basically bad PR
