The French and Indian War
The battle of the British vs the French and their native American Ally
The Battle of Quebec
The battle where Britain won the territory of Quebec against the French.
The Treaty of Paris of 1763
The treaty where France gave most of their North American territory
The Proclamation of 1763
The king of England told the colonists that’s they cant settle in the land west of the Appalachian
The Stamp Act
The British Parliament made the colonist pay a tax on Paper goods
The Stamp Act Riots of Boston
The Bostonian did not like the stamps act so they had riots including breaking the stamp office looting the stamp officers house and burning and effoligoy.
The Repeal of the Stamp Act
The Parliament tired of the riots took back the stamp act and the colonialist where happy as their riots had worked.
The Declaratory Act
This act was made by the Parliament which stated that Parliament had the right to make any law thy want of the colonists.
The Townshend Acts
These were a set of taxes on America when importing every day products.
The Non-Importation Agreements (boycotts)
Many people agreed to follow boycott after the Townsend as they believed that if they didn’t get representation they shouldn’t get taxation.
The dissolution of the MA House of Representatives
The British angry with the protests of the Townshend acts dissolved the Massachusetts legislative program.
The garrisoning of troops in Boston
They kept British troops in Boston to stop the protesting. The colonists did not like this.
The Boston Massacre
A street clash had happened between Doldier and a colonist which led to troops being stationed and then killing 5 while harming many others with their bayonets.
The repeal of the Townshend Acts (accept what?)
They had to repeal it as it lead to economic hardship and colonial unrest. They did not repeal however the Tea tax
The Committees of Correspondence of 1772
These were made by Samuel Adams to connect communities and spread information. This made a sense of unity between colonists.
The Tea Party
This happened when Colonial rebels unhappy with the tea tax dropped 300 boxes of tea into the Boston harbor
The Coercive Acts
A set of British laws meant to punish Boston for the Tea Party. They included closing Boston Harbor, dissolving the Massachusetts legislature, and allowing British officials accused of crimes to be tried in Britain. Ts led to the first continental Congress.
The 1st Continental Congress
Delegates from 12 of the 13 colonies met in Philadelphia to discuss a united response to the Intolerable Acts. They debated how to protect colonial rights and resist British policies.
