o There’s no mutual standpoint of the way we look at the world
o What are the perspective we use when we look at the critical theory
o Realism for cox is the way to think ab the world … makes us see some things
o Every theory sees the world in particular components
—–States—even as unitary actors acting on behalf of natural interests for cox that’s a particular perspective… liberalism same, liberalism believes that private interests are for win win situations, if we cooperate we all benefit,… for cox that makes sense for particular situations and for others it doesn’t make sense… he wants us to focus on the purpose of the theory????—-who does your theory serve
