The architect is has traditionally been the individual associated with the overall responsibility of the project and is normally the accredited person.

A project manager is usually someone in private practice with specialist project management experience and qualifications
What is a project managers role in building services
The PM’s role is to ensure the project is delivered on time, budget to all correct standards
Will also chair construction project meetings
Focus on delivering a project on on time by putting pressure on contractors to ensure critical points are met
Who normally appoints a PM to run projects and manage works?
The client

A construction manager is part of the contractors on-site team
responsible for ensuring that the construction element of the project runs to time and standard to ensure minimal re-working
