Sunday morning, Sampson and Gregory joke around, Benvolio appears, Tybalt starts fight, Capulet and L Capulet arrive, Prince delivers speech with threats. Benvolio says Romeo is lovesick and melancholy, Romeo enters- unrequited love

Paris asks Capulet to marry Juliet, he thinks she’s too young, says to woo her. Mercutio gets invited to Capulet party, Romeo wants to go bc Rosaline will be there

Romeo sees Juliet, Tybalt wants to fight him but Capulet stops him, R+J share a sonnet and then kiss

Romeo in Capulet garden, they both speak of each other, they confess their love, decide to see if he will marry her the next day

Romeo visits Friar Lawrence, asks him to marry them the next day, Friar is doubtful about validity of love but agrees anyway, hopes it will end family feud

M and B discuss T sending challenge to R, R tells N about wedding, ceremony will be that afternoon

J nags N for news, N claims to be too tired and sore, J grows frantic, N gives in and tells her that R is waiting in FL’s cell

FL counsels R to love moderately, not with too much fickleness, all exit to be wed
