What was the United Opposition? 3
An unofficial faction formed in the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks)
when the Left Opposition led by Leon Trotsky, merged with the New Opposition led by Zinoviev & Kamenev
in order to strengthen opposition against the Joseph Stalin led Centre.
What did the United Opposition demand? 4
greater freedom of expression within the Communist Party,
