What occurs to the sacrum when you inhale?
sacrum extends
(base moves posteriorly, apex moves anteriorly)
What occurs to the sacrum during exhalation?
sacrum flexes
(base moves anteriorly, apex moves posteriorly)
How do you gap the SI joint in a flexed sacrum?
internally rotate leg on side of flexed dysfunction
How do you gap the SI joint for an extended sacrum SD?
externally rotate leg on side of SD
For a unilateral flexed sacrum, what are the results of lumbosacral spring and backward bend tests?
spring test = negative (springs fine)
backward bend test = negative (becomes more symmetric)
For a unilaterally extended sacrum, what would the results of the lumbosacral spring and backward bend tests?
spring = positive (hard end feel)
backward bend = positive (becomes more asymmetric)
