What are the 7 gifts of the Holy Spirit?
Wisdom, understanding, right judgement, wonder and awe, knowledge, reverence, courage.
What are the 2 principal effects of Baptism?
Purification from sin, new birth in the Holy Spirit.
What are the 4 moral/cardinal virtues?
Fortitude, temperance, justice, and prudence.
What is reconciliation?
- Sacrament of Healing
- Focuses on forgiveness in our lives and on our acceptance of that forgiveness.
What is mortal sin?
A serious act against God’s Law that we knowingly and freely choose to do. Requires the sacrament of reconciliation to be forgiven.
What is venial sin?
A sin less serious than a mortal sin that weakens our relationship with God and the Church.
What are the 7 deadly sins? (In order)
Pride, Greed, Envy, Wrath, Lust, Gluttony, Sloth.
What are the 7 virtues that combat the 7 deadly sins? (In order)
Humility, Generosity, Love, Kindness, Self Control, Faith, Zeal.
What is a conscience?
Something that God has given to everyone. It helps us know good from bad.
What is Perfect Contrition?
feeling sorry for our sins because of our love for God, not for fear of punishment.
What are three actions a penitent must carry out?
- Express contrition/sorrow for sin.
- Confess sins to the priest.
- Plan to fix it and fix it to correct any harm the sins may have caused.
What are the four Holy Communion Faith words?
- Tabernacle
- Adoration
- Exposition
- Monstrance
What is Confirmation?
A Sacrament of Initiation in which we receive the special strength of the Holy Spirit to faithfully give witness to Christ and grow in holiness.

- Increases and deepens baptismal graces
- Unites us more firmly to Christ
- Increases the 7 Gifts of the Holy Spirit
- Makes out bond with the Church more perfect
