A
It is an accumulation of salvia in the subcutaneous tissues. The reasons for it is unknown.

Treatment
A
The treatment is to remove the glands (mandibular or sublingual).

Patient Position
A
The patient is placed in lateral recumbency with the head extended. Sometimes the surgeon will opt to place a surgical drain.
