11 patients who had undergone commissurotomy prior to the study to control their epilepsy symptoms
(2 had undergone the operation some time before the study, the rest was recent)

Why did he use the sample he did
A
As a result of surgery, the 2 hemispheres couldn’t communicate with each other so he could investigate the functions independently

A
The sample is small so results might not show a consistent trend.
