2. Reject religious belief in sanctity of life - life has value but not b/c it belongs to God

1. Protestants: “there may be…conditions under which it [abortion] may be morally preferable”
   - bad for social reasons but acceptable out of compassion for mother
2. Euthanasia: “He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear”
   - suffering must be endured b/c it is also God-given

What is the Muslim view on abortion and euthanasia?

1. Abortion seen as murder after 120 days b/c of ensoulment:
   - “Take not life which Allah has made sacred”
2. Euthanasia - seen as suicide:
   - “It is not possible for one to die expect by permission of Allah”
