what’s the difference between between a diatonic semitone and a chromatic semitone?
diatonic semitones have different letter names (B to C, D to Eb, G# to A, etc) and are often found in major and minor scales
chromatic semitones have the same letter name for both notes (B to Bb, C to C#, D to D#). Chromatic semitones don’t exist in major or minor keys, but must be created using accidentals
how to remember the difference between diatonic and chromatic semitones?
remember the d’s - Diatonic semitones have Different letter names (e.g. G# to A)
