Q

What is fragmentation?

A

Organisms break into two or more fragments that develop into a new individual. Occurs in many plants, as well as some animals (like coral, sponges, and starfish). (asexuall)

Q

How does sexually reproduction in animals occur?

A

Involves the merging of genetic material carried by the sperm and egg cell. When the sperm cell and egg cell fuse together and join their genetic material it creates a zygote or fertilized egg cell which will then divide and ultimately become a full grown organism.
