(17 cards)
what is a pure substance?
it’s a kind of matter that is made up of one or two kinds of atoms with uniform composition.
what is an element?
it’s only made up of one kind of atom and it cannot be broken down into simpler chemical components.
what are metals?
Metals is mostly in solid form, they’re also good conductors of heat and electricity and are malleable.
what are nonmetals?
Nonmetals are light in weight, bad conductors of heat and electricity, and are not malleable & ductile.
what are metalloids?
Metalloids are both insulators and conductors. They are solid but lack luster.

what is a compound?
compounds are a combinations of two or more elements that are chemically combined.
what are acids?
acids are compounds that produce hydrogen ions when dissolve in water.
what is an indicator?
an indicator is a substance that change color when in contact with acids.
what is a mixture?
a mixture is a substance that consists of two or more pure substances.
what is heterogeneous?
heterogeneous is a mixture that does not have uniform composition.
what is homogenous?
homogenous is a mixture that has a uniform composition throughout.
