What is the cell wall?
The outer layer of a plant cell that protects the insides and gives shape.
What is the function of the cell membrane?
It allows certain things to move in and out of the cell and closes the contents of the cell.
What is cytoplasm?
A jelly-like substance that fills the cell and contains organelles.
What does the nucleus contain?
It contains DNA and controls the life activities of the cell.
What is the role of mitochondria?
It is the site of cellular respiration, breaking down food and producing energy.
What happens in chloroplasts?
Photosynthesis occurs here, and it contains the green pigment chlorophyll.
What is a vacuole?
A fluid (sap) filled organelle that helps maintain water balance and supports the cell’s shape.
