Definition of Universal Gravitation
Universal gravitation is the attraction of one mass to another. Every object in the universe experiences this attraction.
Which of these four statements does not describe universal gravitation?
A. The moon orbits Earth
B. Astroids are drawn towards the sun.
C. A piece of magnetite is drawn towards a magnet
D. Saturn’s rings are made up of rocks and dust that are held in an orbit around the planet.
C because universal gravitation refers to two objects with mass while everything has mass the reason magnite is attacted to a magnet is because of it’s magnetic field not it’s mass.
What is the solar system?
The solar system includes all celestial bodies (including the eight planets) that orbit the sun
What is a natural satalite?
A natural satallite is a celestial body that orbits a planet
What is a comet?
A comet is a small chunk of rock and ice with an orbit that takes it near the Sun.
What are the three parts of a comet?
The three parts are composed of the Head, Plasma tail and the tail.
What are solar winds?
Solar winds are a phenominon that occures when a stream of matter (small partiticles) emitted by the sun
What are Polar auroras?
Polar auroras are lines of light that are produced when particales of solar wind collide with particles in the atmosphere.
What is a meteorite?
A meteorite is a celestial body that reaches Earth without having been entirely burned up in our atmosphere.
What is a crater?
A crater occures when a large meteorite collides with the ground.
