Q

Why does the moon change shape?

A

The moon changes shape because as the moon rotates around the Earth it get more light reflected on it making it big. It also can loose light after a full moon. They all still have the some term just the other way round.

Q

What are the phases of the moon and what direction do they move in?

A

It rotates anti-clockwise. It goes around the Earth in this order: New moon, waxing crescent, first quarter, waxing gibbous, full moon, waning gibbous, third quarter, waning crescent the back to New moon. Then it starts all over again.

17
Q

What causes seasons?

A

The seasons are caused by the Earth rotating around the sun and the title of the Earth towards the sun.

18
Q

What causes night and day?

A

The rotation of the moon around the Earth. What ever side the moons on it is night there and day on the other side of the Earth.

19
Q

What is high and low tide?

A

Low tide- Low tide happens when the gravitational pull. Pulls on the side next to it. So the tide goes farther away from the beach.

High tide- High tide happens when the gravitational pull. Pulls on the area and makes the tide go higher on to the beach.

20
Q

When does a neap and spring tide occur?

A

Spring tide- spring tides occur when it’s full or new moon.

Neap tide- neap tides occur when it’s the third quarter an fist quarter moons.

21
Q

What rhyme could you use to remember the order of the planets?

A

My very enthusiastic mother just served us noodles.
