Scoping, MoSCoW, estimating, WBS, PBS and Scheduling Flashcards
(11 cards)
Scope definition
the totality of the outputs, outcomes and benefits, and the work that is required to produce them
Scope Management Definition
the process whereby the outputs, outcomes and benefits are identified, defined and controlled
Scope triangle
Time, Cost and Quality
MoSCoW Prioritisation
Must have, Should have, Could have, Will not have
Estimate definition
An approximation of project time and cost targets, refined throughout the project life cycle
Estimating definition
The use of a range of tools and techniques to produce forecasts of the probable time or cost of completing work
Methods of Estimation
Top-down and bottom-down
Top-down estimating
a technique used by upper level management to estimate the total cost of a project by using information from a previous , similar project
Bottom-up estimating
you provide detailed estimates for each individual task making up your deliverables. It is more accurate, but requires that the project be well defined before commencement of estimating
Organisational Breakdown Structure (OBS)
Used identify the reporting structure and lines of communication for all individuals in the projects
Work breakdown structure (WBS)
provides a hierarchical structure of project activity. Represents the project “to-do-list”.
