When we imagine something that will NOT happen or we don’t expect that it will happen .
Describe the result of unreal conditions, conditions that don’t exist.
we use :

A

IF + past

What would you do if you won a lot of money?
( This is not happened and we don’t really expect it to happen. We just imagine it and want to know your opinion)

If there was ( or were ) an election tomorro, who would you vote for?

–Unreal action or condition :
If I found a wallet in the street,

–result ( if it was true )
I would try to return it ( unreal : I haven’t found one. )

From a formal letter :
I would be greatful if you would let me know your decision as soon as possible

Would/wouldn’t

A
