Q

Explain the use of musicality in relation to LJ.

A

At the beginning of each verse, the lyrics introduce a new female character, e.g. “My sweet Lady Jane”/”My dear Lady Anne”/”Oh my Sweet Marie”, at the same time the leading male switches partners as if singing to them. The leading male however dances with ‘Lady Jane’ during every chorus which is an indication that Lady Jane is a constant and other women will come and go. k
