What are the major actions performed in EFW Actuation with Low OTSG Pressure?

A
  • If automatic EFW actuation occurs with EFW flow oscillations then place EFW control valves in hand and throttle to stop oscillations and maintain total flow to either SG below 1800 gpm.

If manual control of EFW required then ensure all EFW Isol valves open and place all EFW control valves in hand and close, start EFW pumps and maintain total flow < 1800 gpm to either SG.

A

Instantaneous Max - Condenser CW outlet temp or avg circ water outlet temp > 110 deg greater than 1 hour

Max Daily Avg - Condenser outlet temp > 105 deg F for greater than 48 hours

Perform RPSD to gradually reduce load to return within limits and record readings on att A (Gen vibration log) hourly untial all readings ar ewithin limits and stable.

What does the radio frequency arc monitor look for?

A

provides indication of arcing from the neutral of the main turbine generator to the low voltage windings on the main or Unit Aux Transofmers. Due to the nautre of the signals, an inherent limitation of this device is it cannot distinguish the origin of the RF signal and will also respond to background noise.

TR-9001

An occurrence of field grounds would cause localized heating of the rotor due to greater thermal imbalance resulting in higher rotor viration and greater heat load on the generator H2 gas system.
