Canada relied on products such as fish, minerals, paper, wheat, and pulp. Once the demand for these products dropped Canadas economy suffered.

Canada relied on the USA purchasing their products, once depression hit the USA they could no longer afford Canadas products.
Over expansion and over production
Companies expanded to reach high production, they eventually overproduced and couldn’t sell all their products which meant they couldn’t afford all employees and had to let them go.
High traffis hurt international trade
Europeans put high traffis on their imports to protect their industries, which decreased international trade.
People were buying to much on credit
People were purchasing excessive an excessive number of products on credit. Once they became unemployed they could no longer afford to pay their instalments and got their items taken away, goods,houses,stocks.
