Why Are You Pursuing a Career In SEO?
As a digital marketer, I have come across numerous websites that contain great content as well as creative ideas but find it difficult to rank well in search engines.
When I discovered SEO, it made me realize just how many factors influence what people see on the internet.
The mismatch between quality content and search engine visibility inspired me to start a career in Search Engine Optimization. My passion is helping these sites meet their SEO objectives, improve their online presence and ensure that quality content reaches its intended audience.
By the use of my skills, I want to contribute to deliver valuable results for both businesses and users.
What Makes You a Suitable Candidate for This Role?
I am a suitable candidate for this role because of my solid SEO hands-on experience. I have worked on site audits, keyword research, content creation, and link building, which has given me a strong understanding of SEO strategies and tools like SEMrush, Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
My skills and passion for digital marketing drives me to stay updated with SEO trends and continuously improve SEO practices. Additionally, I can effectively communicate in terms of reporting changes, updates and recommendations to be transparent with my clients.
Aside from those, I am within a community of expert SEO Specialist allowing me to continue to grow and develop my skills as a digital marketer.

What Is an Organic Search Result?
Organic search results are non-paid search results from a search engine. These results are not influenced by paid advertising.
Can You Explain What Backlinks Are?
Backlinks are hyperlinks that point from one website to another.
Backlinks are important for SEO because they’re seen as an endorsement for a linked website.
The more quality backlinks a website has, the more trustworthy it is seen to search engines and the more likely it is to rank higher in search engines.
How Would You Analyze Your Competitors’ Backlinks?
to analyze your competitors backlink, i use SEMrush’s backlink analytics to first identify the competitors link profile
Through this tool, we get to see the different strategies that our competitors conduct that we can use on our link building strategy as well
Can You Explain the Difference Between On-Page SEO and Off-Page SEO?
On-page SEO focuses on optimizing parts of your website that within the website that you can control such as title tags, meta descriptions, internal links, images, and more.
meanwhile off-page SEO focuses on increasing website reputation and authority by taking actions outside of your website like earning backlinks and mentions. Which you don’t have full control over.
How Do You Perform Keyword Research?
I start by brainstorming seed keywords or categories related to the website’s products or services.
Once I have a handful of keywords, I use the keyword research tools in SEMrush or Google keyword planner to generate more keyword ideas based on my seed keywords.
Then, I analyze all these keyword ideas using metrics such as keyword search volume and keyword difficulty, And search intent.
I would search keywords with high search volume but low keyword difficulty.
What Are Rich Snippets?
A search result display that provides additional information of a site than the standard title, URL, and meta description.
It can include elements like ratings, images, product prices, and many more specifications. Rich snippets are formed from a structured data/Schema Markup that is added to the HTML of your site.
What Are Meta Tags?
Snippets of code that give search engines information about your webpage.
The meta title and description are examples of meta tags.
And can influence how your webpage is displayed in search results.
How Do You Check a Website’s Organic Traffic?
To check your website’s organic traffic, the most common way is to use a tool called Google Analytics
There are other tools as well like Google Search Console or SEMrush’s Domain Overview tool.

What Is a Canonical Tag?
Basically a canonical tag is an HTML element that tells the search engine which version of a webpage or URL is the main version. Usually used when there multiple versions of a similar content, a duplicate page.
Can You Explain What Redirects Are?
A way to move users from one URL to another.
They’re are usually used when a webpage or website has been moved to a new location. Or when the URL structure has changed.
we use redirect to ensure that users are automatically taken to the new URL instead of encountering errors like 404 or seeing outdated content.
What Is the Difference between a 301 and a 302 Redirect?
Both 301 and 302 redirect are methods used to send visitors and search engines from one URL to another.
but the 301 is needed when you permanently move a page to a new URL. it tells the search engine that that page has been permanently relocated to a new address
while the 302 is done when you moved a page to a new URL temporarily and intend to bring back the original URL at some point.
What Is a URL Slug?
A slug is usually placed at the last part of the URL that provides information about the content of the page.
What is crawling & indexing?
Crawling is the process search engines use to discover webpages on the internet.
a crawler studies websites, related web-pages, links, and content to create entries for search engine indexing.
Indexing, happens after the crawling process where in A webpage to be added to the database of a search engine.
Once the indexing is done, the webpage will start appearing for queries on the search engine.
However, it is important to note that the webpage will have to go through a process of search engine optimization to get reflected on top positions.
How Do You Check Whether a Website Is Indexed by Google?
we can also use Google Search Console to do this. The “Page Indexing” report should tell you whether your pages are indexed.
Additionally in Google Search Console, aside from “checking” if you page or site is indexed, you can also request google to index it, doing this it will add your site to priority lists to index.
Why Is Local SEO Important?
Local SEO is essential for businesses that rely on local customers because it increases visibility, drives more relevant traffic, builds trust, and offers a cost-effective way to attract potential customers in your area. By focusing on local SEO, you ensure that your business can be found by the people who are most likely to need your products or services.
What Is Anchor Text?
is the clickable text that links one webpage to another. It helps users understand what they can expect to find when they click the link.
Linking to other pages on your website using optimized anchor text helps the linked pages rank higher for related keywords.
What Is a Robots.txt File?
Robots.txt s a text file that we can create to instruct search engine bots about which sections or pages of the website they’re allowed or not allowed to crawl.
- To prevent search engines from indexing duplicate content or irrelevant site
- To prevent search engines from crawling low-value pages, let them focus on most important content.
-To keep certain files private or to limit exposure to contents that don’t need to be indexed.
What Is a XML Sitemap?
is a file listing all the important pages and URLs on a website that you want search engines to crawl, index, and rank in search results.
A sitemap is important for SEO because it helps Google discover pages faster and more efficiently.
What’s the Difference Between a Dofollow vs. a Nofollow link?
Follow and nofollow links are terms used to describe how search engines handle links in terms of passing authority or ranking power from one page to another
When linking to a site, a dofollow tells the search engine to reccomend them and pass link juice to help that site rank higher
A nofollow link is when you link to a site but do not want to help them rank higher in google search.
usually used for comments, ads, or links with no SEO value.
What Are Long-Tail Keywords?
3-7 words
are search queries that tend to be longer and more specific. They have a lower search volume but lower competition and higher Conversion Rate.
What Is a 404 Error?
404 error code is an HTTP status that indicates that the requested webpage or resource couldn’t be found on the server.
When a user or a search engine attempts to access a URL that does not exist, or has been moved or deleted, the server responds with a 404 error code to indicate that the requested page is unavailable.
