A

Continuous development is commulative development. gradually adding more of the same type of skills that were aalready there.

e discontinuous development is when you learn new ways of understanding and responding to the world

A

Theories which focus on how kids think, process and know information to do with their knowledge, memory and speed of processing.

A

A

A

Freud. How childhood experiences are lodged in the unconscious. Child development affected by gratifying id impulses. Stages of child development that must be reached and resolved. Stages resolve around location of gratification.

What is the evolutionary perspective?

A

We are products of thousands of years of natural selection.

Process = functional design

For example. Children can learn language easily but after puberty they lose this ability.

How do adaptations develop?

A

For example finding fruit. Vegetation is green. Berries and fruit are often read. Adaptation in visual system is the ability to seethe color red so that fruit can be identified.
