time and space
What are the three main ways to consider time?
era (year), season (month), time of day (hour)
What is an example of Time of Day?
ex. 5:30 in the morning
What is an example of Season?
ex. Fall
What is an example of Era?
ex. 1290 A.D. (C.E) Medieval
What are the five themes of Space?
place, location, human environmental interaction, movement, region
Define and give an example of Place.
Place: ways to describe what you find (details). ex. school or home or grocery store
Define and give an example of Location.
Locations: two ways - absolute (ex. street address) and relative (ex. over there, underneath, beside)
Define and give an example of Human Environmental Interaction.
Human Environmental Interaction: effected by/ and effects place. ex. bullies, social event, your mom
Define movement and give examples for the Three types of Movement.
Movement: happens to
Three types: ideas (ex. books, talking, letters), things (ex. horses, boat), people (ex. horse back riding, walking)
Define and give examples of Region
Region: an area that shares the same characteristics. ex. coastal, urban, prairie
