What is Sexually acquired reactive arthritis (SARA)

A

A sterile inflammation of the synovial lining of the joint and/or the associated tendon insertions. The arthritis is typically asymmetrical and occurs within three months of primary infection
The knees and the foot joints are most often affected, The condition is most often self-limiting.
Uveitis can complicate this condition.

It’s a type of chlamydia bacteria that attacks the lymph nodes, which are an important part of your body’s defence against infections. LGV is very rarely seen in heterosexual men and women in the UK but cases are being seen among gay and bisexual men
