A

A

NE is superior because DA causes increased arrhythmia

A

Yes , note that blood cultures are positive in only 50% of septic shock cases

How do we treat septic shock?

A

NE is first line then add or substitute with EPI

  • Vasopressin can be added to NE
  • Dopamine substitutes for NE if bradycardia (firstline)
  • Phenylephrine only if arrhythmia or high CO with low TPR
  • Dobutamine is inotrope if needed
