He discovered that the earth revolved around the sun and it turned on it's axis.

He discovered different objects of different weights fell at the same speed. He also discovered the pendulum clock. He invented his own telescope and discovered the moon's surface is rough, Jupiter has 4 moons and Saturn is encircled by rings.
