What articulates at the sternoclavicular joint?
The sternal end of the clavicle and the manubrium
What articulates at the acromioclavicular joint?
The acromial end of the clavicle and acromian of the scapula
What ribs does the scapular overlie?
2nd-7th ribs
What sections does the spine of the scapula on the posterior side of the scapula divide the scapula into?
The supraspinous ross and infraspinous ross
What does the gelnohumeral joint comprise of?
lateral surface of the scapula that articulates with the head of the humerus
Where is the coracoid process?
superior to the glenoid cavity and projects anterolaterally
Where is the vertebral border of the scapula?
approx 5cm lateral to the spinous processes of the thoracic vertebrae
Where is the greater tubercle found?
LAteral margin of the humerus
Where is the lesser tubercle found?
Projects anteriorly from the bone
What does the inter tubercular (bicipital) groove do?
separates the tubercles and provides a protected passage for the slender tendon of the long head of the biceps muscle
What are the 2 main features of the shaft of the humorous?
deltoid tuberosity (laterally) for the attachment of the deltoid muscle and the oblique radial groove posteriorly in which the radial nerve and deep artery of the arm lie
What makes the inferior end of the humeral shaft?
The medial and lateral supraepicondylar ridges and then the distal medial and lateral epicondyles.
