Certain muscles in the contract and there is less tension on the lens

A
The muscles in your eye relax increasing tension in the lens making it thinner

Why is the image on your retina upside down
A
Because the light rays from the base of the object comes together at the top of the retina and the light rays at the top come together at the bottom of the retina
