How many parts are in the eye?
6; retina, optic nerve, lens, pupil, cornea, iris.
What is the cornea?
clear membrane that covers the front of the eye and also protects it.
What is the pupil?
The pupil is the opening in the eye. (the black dot)
What is the iris?
the iris is the rig muscle that surrounds the pupil, and controls the size. It also gives the eye color.
What is the lens?
it is an oval shaped piece of clear membrane thats behind the iris.
What is the retina?
The retina is a layer of light sensitive cells.
How many photoreceptors does the retina have?
2; rod and cones.
What are rods and cones?
Rods work in dimlight, and cones work in bright light. Rods interprets a black and white image while cones interprets a clear colored image.
What is near sightedness?
Nearsightedness is when the lens focusses the light in front of the retina.
What is far sightedness?
The lens focuses the light behind the retina.
How many parts does the ear have?
8; earlobe, ear canal, ear drum, hammer, anvil, stirrup, nerve, and cochlea.
