Q

Why did the Sino-Soviet split occur?

A
  1. Mao did not like Krushchev, rather supported Stalin when he was ousted
  2. Mao did not like that Krushchev wanted to forge a better relationship with America
  3. Soviets promised Nuclear weapons for China in 1957 as a token of solidarity, then withdrew the promise because Mao acted far too casually about having such powerful weaponry
  4. Soviets did not support China in Indian border dispute
  5. Mao and Krushchev acted like 5 years olds calling each other names e.g. “ultra-leftist, ultra-dogmatist, left deviationist”
