5 Functions of bones

A
  1. Structural support (EX. support for soft tissue)
  2. Provide protection (EX. rib cage protects heart and lungs)
  3. Growth center for cells (EX. red blood cells and platelets are made in bones)
  4. Reservoir of minerals (EX. bones have calcium and phosphorous)
  5. Movement (EX. Muscles attach to bones via tendons and act as levers)
