What is alcohol? 
Alcohol is a drink that contains a drug ethanol. Ethanol affect your nervousystem. The chemical your brain releases becomes an antidepressant because it slows down your bodies reaction.
What is an alcoholic?
An alcoholic is someone who has too much alcohol regularly they become addicted and become an alcoholic. They may need to drink greater and greater amounts of alcohol to cause the same effect on their body.
How much alcohol can you drink safely?
Different alcoholic drinks contain different amounts of alcohol. Suggested by the government is 14 units per week. One unit of alcohol is 10 ml of pure alcohol.
Why can alcohol be dangerous?
Alcohol can be dangerous because it can cause many disease such as liver failure, heart issues, brain damage and much more. Liver failure is the main issue because your liver needs to break down ethanol and your liver can struggle to breakdown large amounts of ethanol making it work less efficiently.
Should a pregnant woman drink?
No.
Pregnant women are not allowed to drink due to the risk of a miscarriage, a stillbirth, premature birth and low birth weight babies.
Why is smoking dangerous?
Smoking is considered dangerous because cigarettes contain harmful chemicals. They also lead to heart attacks and breathing problems like asthma. Smokers are 20% more likely to die from lung cancer and non-smokers.
Define passive smoking
A passive smoker is someone who inhaled smoke a smoker a puffs out. This is not nearly as bad as smoking, but it’s still affects you.
Should a pregnant woman smoke?
No.
Pregnant woman should not smoke because smoking in a pregnancy increases the risk of a miscarriage it can also make the mother ill and lead to many issues like: a miscarriage, a stillbirth, premature birth and low birth weight babies.

Nicotine- an addictive drug that speeds up the nervous system it is a stimulant which makes the heartbeat faster.
Carbon monoxide- poisonous gas that stops the blood from carrying as much oxygen as it should.
How does smoking cause heart disease?
Smoking cord is the persons arteries to become blocked. This prevents blood flowing properly and can cause a heart attack or stroke.
How does smoking cause emphysema? (A lung disease)
Chemicals in tobacco smoke affect the alveoli in your lungs their walls become weaken so they do not inflate properly when you inhale they may also burst.
What are drugs?
Drugs are a chemical substance that affect your body and how it works. They alter the chemical reactions that take place inside of your body. Sometimes these changes are helpful but most of the time they are negative.
What are the two different kinds of drugs?
Medicinal drugs and recreational drugs.
What does medicinal mean?
Medicinal = benefits your health 
What does recreational mean?
Recreational = no benefits to your health

What is a drug addiction? 
If your body gets used to the change is caused by drug it may become dependent on the drug. This means you need to keep taking the drug to feel normal. This then becomes an addiction. If a person with an addiction tries to stop taking the drug, they may suffer withdrawal symptoms. These are very unpleasant.
