Equalisation

A

Equalisation is as you descend, you will begin to feel pressure on your ears. When equalising, you should hear a crackling sound and feel the pressure subside.
Either hold your nose and blow out, or hold your nose and swallow your own saliva.

A

Ideal snorkelling conditions would be calm water with no wind disturbing the water, sun would also be good in assistance to see clearer

Buddy systems

A

Provide an extra pair of eyes and opinion, of you get into trouble there will be someone to help you out.

  • always stay close to your dive buddy
  • if anyone needs to return to shore, the buddy needs to go too
  • no one should swim away, from or towards the shore alone
