A

In 1932, 250,000 Americans were evicted from their homes as they feel behind on mortgage payments. This was because many became unemployed and could not afford their necessities anymore. On top of this, the government gave very little financial support and left people to fend for themselves.

Counter Analysis

A

It could be argued that these measures were not fully successful as although people involved in the WPA received $52 per month, this was actually lower than the going rate and private companies could provide more than this, which made the government look weak. However, with the number of people receiving this money, private companies would not be able to provide and so people had to turn to the government. They had to live of this small sum of money and as a result, many could not pay for their necessities.

Evaluation

A

To evaluate, it is clear to see that FDR had successfully dealt with many issues and provided Social Relief. This was further proved by the Home Owners Loan Corporation which supplied people with loans to stop them from being evicted. Overall, this issue was dealt with very effectively and was addressed far better than the Economic Recovery and Federal Reform.
