Q

Parental divorce or separation

A
  • Parental divorce can have a negative effect on children/adolescents as they can experience emotional problems that may affect their self esteem and self confidence leading to emotional distress, moodiness and depression.
  • This could lead to risky behaviour such as smoking, taking drugs and alcohol
  • Divorce and parental separation can also be seen as a relief as there is less arguing at home and therefore less stress
