No - done in 1950s during US McCarthyism in Cold War. Conservative and against anyone with left wing views. Perrin and Spencer.

No - although very influential in showing power of group pressure, task lacked mundane realism and therefore EV

Did Asch’s study have population validity?
A
All male sample - androcentric so may not generalise to women. Women conform more than men.
Also ethnocentric - USA is individualist so may not generalise to collectivist societies.
