  • Repeated presentations with mental health problems
  • Late booking/poor attendance
  • Overbearing partner at all meetings

A

All procedures that involve total or partial removal of the external female genitalia for non medical reasons.

What are the different types of FGM?

A
  1. Clitoridectomy
  2. Excision - removal of clitoris and the inner labia minora
  3. Infibulation - narrowing of the vaginal opening by creating a seal, formed by cutting and repositioning the labia, after removing the clitoris and labia

You can also get pricking, piercing, cutting, scraping or burning the area
