1944 - made school free for all, raised the leaving age to 15, introduced the 11+ exam and Tripartite System

What was the Tripartite System?
A
The result of the end of primary school exam would determine which school you went to next. Grammar for those who passed the 11+ (20% approx), secondary modern for those who failed (75-80% approx), technical for those with an aptitude for practical subjects.
