Geographic tools
Maps and globes are geographic tools.
Continent
A globe shows the oceans largest land areas, or continent.
Hemisphere
A half of earth is a hemisphere.
Equator
A imaginary line in the middle of the earth.
Border
A border is a line that shows where state or country ends.
Relative Location
The location of a place in relation to another place.
Physical Feature
Physical Features include land, water, climate, & plant life.
Mountain range
A chain of mountains.
Valley
A low area of land.
Plateau
A landform with steep sides.
Vegetation
Is a place that is a physical feature.
Growing Season
The time when plants grow.
Erosion
Is wearing away Of earths surface.
Ecosystem
Is made up of the plants, animals, land, water, and climate.
Landform Map
A “Landform Map” shows a places main physical features.
Preserve
Work to preserve, or save.
Natural Resource
Is something from nature that people can use.
Minerals
Gold, iron, and copper, and salt are some of Earths many minerals.
Renewable
A resource is one that can be made again.
Non renewable
A resource cannot be made again.
Fuel
Is a natural resource that is burned.
Absolute Location
Can use a grid system to find an exact place.
Latitude
They run east and west.
Longitude
They run north and south.
