he torchered barons relatives, illegally imprisoned barons, stepped over the bounds of the feudal code,and tore down hedges that protected people’s crops from wild animals so he could hunt better
what did the people of England force king John to do?
go to a meadow near London and there he put his seal to great charter called the Magna Carta. in which he agreed to respect the rights of the English people
what is the Magna Carta?
-garenteed the rights of the English people -free people won’t be prayed apon by the ruler -taxes would not be taken without the concent of parliament -no one can be arrested without a proper trail -this thrust England forward towards democracy
